You will be re-instated rather than rehired, which means that your previous time worked counts toward your pension benefits. If you are a registered nurse on an approved leave of absence and are wondering whether to return to Maimonides, remember that at the end of a leave of absence of more than three months, but no more than six months, for maternity or one single illness, you will be entitled to return to work in your former title, without loss of previously accrued seniority.
